The Scanning Process
Through its over 20 years of experience, Renco has developed an efficient and reliable document scanning process. The flowchart below outlines this process. During the transportation stage, Renco picks up the client's documents and securely transports them to Renco. If distance is a factor, Renco will work with the client to have the documents delivered through a mail service such as FedEx or UPS. Once the document scanning process is complete, we can either shred the documents or return them to the client. Renco prepares the documents for scanning by removing staples, clips, tape, post-it notes, etc. and repairing tears. During the scanning stage, we convert the client's documents into electronics files at either 300 or 400 dots per inch (DPI). We have the ability to create TIFF, searchable PDF, and JPEG files in both single page and multi page formats. We then index the files according to the client's specifications. If desired, Renco can enable searchable optical character recognition (OCR). Renco can deliver the scanned and indexed files to the client in several ways. We can transfer the files to external hard drives, USBs, CDs, and DVDs. We can also create and give the client access to a file transfer protocol (FTP). Our preferred method of delivery is via DocuLinx, Renco's web-based electronic document management system (EDMS).
